Planted Tank has no limitation on size. You can choose any size of tank. Mainly those are beginners I recommend for them to choose 24"*15*"15" size tank. You can buy or you can make those tank at your home.

Which type of glass should be use?

Try to avoid normal glass to make this tank. If you have limitation on budget try to use crystal glass at least front glass for perfect look.
